What the heck is "Spitgamer?"
Here's the deal. Games are expensive. If you're an avid gamer, you've probably got some old games sitting around that you don't play anymore. Instead of letting them continue to collect dust, why not trade them for something else?
There are a lot of games out there. A lot of them may be old, but they're cheap, and you certainly can't beat free. Swap your old games that you're bored with for another game that you haven't played before. Spitgamer is an attempt to make the connections necessary to arrange easy swaps. It's like recycling, but for geeks.
How does it work?
- Create an account.
- List all of the games you're willing to trade.
- You can either:
- Wait for other people to make offers for your games. ...or...
- Search for games that you want an make an offer for them.
- Once you accept an offer, you are provided with a shipping address. Ship your game via USPS Media Mail ( usually about $1.60 ) within three business days.
- You can use Spitgamer to mark the game as shipped. This gives your trading partner an idea of when to expect the game.
- Once both parties have received their traded item, you are given the opportunity to rate your trading partner.
What are the guarantees?
The key to the web site is the ratings system. For each trade you make, you have an opportunity to rate the user that you traded with. If a user has a low average rating, other users will be more hesitant to enter into trades with this user.
Spitgamer staff do not get involved with trade disputes. We will ban users for misbehavior, but we cannot follow up on every trade dispute. For more information see our site rules and license agreement.
